Atiku Rejects Babachir Lawal’s ADC Rigging Allegation, Says No Evidence Exists.

The camp of ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has rejected allegations of irregularities in the party’s presidential primary, describing claims made by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, as baseless and unsupported by evidence.

In a statement issued by Atiku’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, the former Vice President’s camp said Lawal’s accusations were politically motivated and lacked credibility.

The statement argued that Lawal had sought to discredit a democratic process and undermine the efforts of thousands of ADC members nationwide without providing any proof to back his claims.

Lawal, who resigned from the ADC on Monday, had criticised the outcome of the party’s presidential primary, alleging that the process was manipulated. However, Atiku’s camp insisted that the exercise was transparent, credible, and reflected the wishes of party members across the country.

Shaibu maintained that Lawal failed to present any tangible evidence to support his allegations, stressing that the primary election was conducted across numerous wards and produced a clear outcome.

According to him, Lawal offered no documents, verifiable facts, credible witnesses, or any form of proof to substantiate what he described as sensational claims against the party’s primary process.
